COSPAR Scientific Assembly is going to take place in Mysore, 
India, July 14-22, 2012.

We would like to draw your attention to the following 3 half-day event 
(E1.6) at this conference:

Seyfert Galaxies: Known and the Unknown

Seyfert galaxies harbor a super massive black hole at their centre, 
which accretes matter from the surrounding and makes these galaxies 
strong emitters across the electromagnetic spectrum. Being the active 
galactic nuclei (AGN) in the nearby Universe, they are an important 
class of objects to study and understand. With the advent of many 
high-performance space and ground based observatories, we can now start 
addressing some of the key open questions. During this session we want 
to discuss the controversial aspects of Seyfert research.

The three main topics are:

The central engine:
- The new domain: gamma-ray/VHE emission of Seyfert galaxies
- Evidence for Kerr black holes: relativistically broadened emission lines
- Relativistic jets and outflows

Beyond the Unification paradigm:
- The big picture: Unification of Seyferts
- Always there? The (hidden) broad line region
- More than a torus: complex absorbers
- All the same? Fundamental plane(s) of Seyfert activity

Environment interaction, evolution:
- Host galaxies: the interaction of Seyfert galaxies with their environment
- The Seyfert-starburst connection
- Evolution: Seyfert galaxies throughout the history of the Universe
