This website advertise the scientific, teaching and outreach activity of a team of researchers located at the INAF Rome Observatory and at the University of Rome La Sapienza.
We study the properties of the first sources in the Universe – how the first stars and galaxies appeared soon after the Big Bang, and how they emerged from the so-called “Dark Ages” at the end of the first billion year of the Universe’s life.
We do so by developing sophisticated theoretical models, collecting data using the best telescopes in the world, and comparing data and theories to improve our understanding.
