Matteo Imbrogno

I graduated in December 2020 with a thesis on the search of periodic sources in the XMM-Newton archival data through accelerated search techniques, with Prof. Luigi Stella and Prof. Gianluca Israel as supervisors. I am currently a Ph.D. student at “Tor Vergata” University under the supervision of Prof. Gianluca Israel, focusing my research on pulsating ultraluminous X-ray sources, the so-called PULXs, the most luminous neutron stars in the universe. Shedding light on how these neutron stars can emit at such high luminosities will help us understand an accretion regime rarely considered by the theory in the past.

You can find me at the OAR or at Tor Vergata University. Feel free to contact me at matteo.imbrogno @ inaf.it!
