Silvia Piranomonte

Silvia: I am currently a staff researcher at OAR since 2016.
My research activity is mostly focused on the optical and NIR characterization of the electromagnetic (EM) counterparts of gravitational wave (GW) sources.
Within several Italian, European and International projects I am involved with, my work is focused on organizing and coordinating the observational campaign, data analysis and interpretation of the electromagnetic counterparts of the gravitational-wave candidates using observational resources we can have access to, which span from the optical wide-field of view telescopes, large telescopes for photometry and spectroscopy, high-energy satellites and radio antennas.
In particular I work on: evolution and multifrequency studies of gamma-ray bursts (GRB) and kilonovae (KN), optical and infrared follow-up of GRB, X-ray/Infrared/Optical spectra of GRB and kilonovae and GRB host galaxies studies.
