The two-families scenario: what does it predict?

I will revisit the two-families scenario in which neutron stars coexist with strange quark stars, i.e. with compact objects made almost
entirely of deconfined quarks. I will outline the differences between this scenario and other schemes in which quark matter appears only at the center of compact stars and I will discuss how it compares with GW170817, GRB170817A, AT2017gfo and with the existing limits on masses and radii of compact stars.
